DIRECTOR OF PROGRAMME

Dr. Abdullahi is a Senior Research Fellow and Head of the Department of Defence and Security Studies (DDSS) at the Centre for Strategic Research and Studies (CSRS), National Defence College Abuja-Nigeria. He holds B.A. (Hons.) in History, M.A. in Peace and Strategic Studies, and Ph.D. in Peace and Development Studies, all from the University of Ilorin-Nigeria. His research interests span Peace and Conflict Management, Security and Strategic Studies, CIMIC/Civil-Military Relations, Disaster and Safety Management, and (P)CVE. Others include Forced Migration, Sustainable Development, History and Inter. Rel., Conflict Sensitive Development (CSD) and Hydro-Politics with reasonable publications in reputable local and international journals.

He had attended several strategic courses over the years. Some of these are: Higher Defence and Strategic Studies Course, NDC-Nigeria (2021), Dialogue and Mediation Course, ECOWAS (2017), CIMIC and Human Rights Observation Course, EU/ONSA (2016), Peace Support Operation Planning Course, ECOWAS (2015), National Disaster Management, Bournemouth University (2013), and Strategic Communication, ONSA/Dept of State, USA/MoD UK/NDC (2013).

Dr. Abdullahi had taught at the General Studies Division of the University of Ilorin. He had also facilitated courses and supervised Postgraduate Research Projects for the Peace Studies and Conflict Resolution as well as Criminology and Security Studies programmes of the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN). Dr. Abdullahi had consulted for Quilliam International UK/USA on a Department of State sponsored Deradicalization Programme in Africa codenamed Taffakur. He is the Director of Programmes at the Peace, Environment and Security Initiative for Africa (PESIA). Dr. Abdullahi is a Fellow of the prestigious National Defence College (fdc), the National Vice President/Fellow, Institute of Disaster Management and Safety Science (IDMSS), a member of the Historical Society of Nigeria (HSN), Society for Peace Studies and Practice (SPSP) Nigeria, and Nigerian Institute of Management (NIM).
