Ashraaf Islamic Foundation’s Mawlid Nabiyy Celebration Reaffirms Its Deep Roots in Prophetic Legacy Imam Dr. Sharafudeen Aliagan

The Ashraaf Islamic Foundation has once again reaffirmed its commitment to the teachings and legacy of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) through its annual Mawlid Nabiyy celebration held on 04 October 2025 at Merit house Maitama, Speaking at the event, the Chairman and Founder of the foundation, Imam Dr. Sharafudeen Abdulsalam Aliagan, described the celebration as “a testament to the fact that the foundation is built on the legacy of the Prophet Muhammad.”

Imam Aliagan emphasized that the Mawlid is not merely a commemorative gathering, but a purposeful reflection on the Prophet’s life, character, and enduring message. He noted that every activity of the foundation spanning humanitarian services, educational initiatives, spiritual development programs, and community-building efforts is inspired by the Prophet’s example of compassion, justice, moral excellence, and devotion to Allah.

According to him, the annual celebration serves as an opportunity for Muslims to reconnect with the Prophet’s teachings and to commit themselves to living out his values in contemporary society. The event featured Qu

r’anic recitations, scholarly lectures, spiritual songs, and reflections centered on the Prophet’s mission and relevance in today’s world.

Imam Aliagan further highlighted that the foundation’s work is intentionally anchored in prophetic guidance, which continues to shape its vision and outreach. He described the Mawlid as both a reminder and a renewal of the organization’s purpose: to uphold the principles of mercy, knowledge, unity, and service to humanity principles that defined the Prophet’s life.

The event drew participants from various communities, scholars, youth groups, and well-wishers, all united in celebrating the birth and legacy of the Prophet Muhammad. The atmosphere was marked by devotion, learning, and a renewed sense of commitment to Islamic values.

With the successful hosting of this year’s Mawlid Nabiyy, the Ashraaf Islamic Foundation continues to position itself as a leading institution dedicated to the propagation of authentic Islamic teachings and the promotion of community development guided by prophetic wisdom.

Alaafin of Oyo Urges Greater Investment in Women and Technology at Islamic Event

The Alaafin of Oyo, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, has called for increased investment in women and a stronger embrace of technological advancement among Muslims. He made this call during an interview with journalists at the Ashraaf Islamic Foundation Annual Mawlid Nabiyy event.

Oba Owoade emphasized that empowering women is key to building stronger families and nurturing responsible future generations. According to him, when women are educated and supported, they become better equipped to guide their children and contribute meaningfully to the nation’s development.

“Empowering women leads to stronger families and better tutelage for children, which ultimately benefits the nation as a whole,” he said.

The Alaafin also highlighted the need for Muslims to embrace technological innovation and prepare for the future. He noted that the world is changing rapidly, and the Muslim Ummah must adapt by integrating information technology and modern innovations into daily life, education, and economic activities.

“The world is moving fast. Muslims must think beyond today and become technologically skilled to face the challenges of tomorrow,” the monarch stated.

Oba Owoade urged Muslims to acquire digital and technical skills to remain competitive and relevant in a fast-evolving global economy. He stressed that embracing technology and investing in human capital—particularly in women—would enhance economic resilience and foster sustainable development within the Muslim community.

The Alaafin’s message underscored the importance of forward thinking, innovation, and inclusivity as key drivers of national progress and community empowerment.
